ASPM Data Download: Definitions of Variables

The following definitions define the fields in the ASPM reports of Data Download:

  • AAR. Airport-supplied Arrival Rate.
  • ACT_AZ (AZSec). ETMS Arrival Message Seconds since 1/1/80.
  • ACT_DZ (DZSec). ETMS Departure Message GMT Seconds since 1/1/80.
  • ACT_DZ2AZ (DZ2AZ). Minutes between DZ and AZ message Time.
  • ActTI. Total Taxi-In Minutes.
  • ActTO. Total Taxi-Out Minutes.
  • Add_Flag. A code indicating that the record should be added into the total number of derived cancelled flights. Values: 1 = Add into the total number of derived cancelled flights; 0 = Do not add into the total number of derived cancelled flights.
  • ADJ_OAG_ARR (FPInSec). Flight Plan Gate-In GMT Seconds since 1/1/80.
  • ADR. Airport-supplied Departure Rate.
  • AIRBORNE (ActAir). Actual Airborne Minutes.
  • ArptScore. Efficiency Airport Score.
  • Arr_Day. Scheduled Arrival Day (Local Day), or the day of the month in which the flight was scheduled to arrive, using local clock time at a particular location. Values: 1–31.
  • Arr_HOUR. Scheduled Arrival Hour (Local Hour).
  • Arr_LOCID. The code identifying the last reported arrival destination (e.g. destination may be a fix or a landing facility). Values: Domestic = space + 3-character identification code; foreign = ICAO 4-character identification code.
  • Arr_QTR. Scheduled Arrival Quarter Hour (Local Qtr).
  • Arr_YYYYMM. The year and month in which the flight was scheduled to arrive, using local clock time at a particular location. Format: YYYYMM.
  • ArrDemand. Number of aircraft intending to arrive for the period.
  • ArrSchDT. The scheduled arrival date as listed in the Official Airline Guide (OAG), using local clock time at a particular location. Format: MM/DD/YYYY.
  • ArrSchSEC. The scheduled arrival time as listed in the Official Airline Guide (OAG).
  • ArrSchTM. The scheduled arrival time as listed in the Official Airline Guide (OAG), using local clock time at a particular location. Format: HH:MM.
  • ARRSCORE. Arrival Score.
  • CancCode. A code indicating the carrier-reported cause for the cancellation. Permissible Values: A = Carrier; B = Weather; C = National Aviation System; D = Security; ‘’ = Blank.
  • Ceiling. In hundreds of feet.
  • CommDep. Commercial Departures.
  • DELAY_AIR (DlaAir). Airborne Delay Minutes (ActAir - FPETE) Delay Data.
  • DELAY_ARR (DlaFPArr). Arrival Delay in Minutes (Compared to Flight Plan).
  • DELAY_TI (DlaTI). Taxi In Delay in Minutes (Actual Compared to Unimpeded).
  • DELAY_TO (DlaTO). Taxi Out Delay Minutes.
  • Dep_Day. The day of the month in which the flight was scheduled to depart, using local clock time at a particular location. Values: 1–31.
  • Dep_HOUR. Scheduled Departure Hour (Local Hour).
  • Dep_LOCID. Departure Location Identifier: Domestic = space + 3-character identification code; foreign = ICAO 4-character identification code.
  • Dep_LocID. The code identifying the last reported departure location (e.g. location may be a fix or a landing facility).
  • Dep_QTR. Scheduled Departure Quarter Hour (Local Qtr).
  • Dep_YYYYMM. The year and month in which the flight was scheduled to depart, using local clock time at a particular location. Format: YYYYMM.

  • DIF_G2G (DlaBlock). Block Delay Minutes.
  • DlaAEDCTDC. Count of EDCT Holds departing this airport.
  • DlaAir. Total Airborne Delay Minutes.
  • DlaAirC. Count of Total Airborne Delays.
  • DlaArrA15. Average Minutes of OAG-Based Arrival Delay =>15
  • DlaArrC15. Count of OAG-Based Arrival Delay =>15
  • DlaArrM15. Minutes of OAG-Based Arrival Delay =>15
  • DlaBlock. Average Block Delay Minutes.
  • DlaBlock. Total Block Delay Minutes.
  • DlaEDCTArC. Count of EDCT Holds at other airports arriving this airport.
  • DlaEDCTArE. Count of EDCT Holds at other airports arriving this airport early.
  • DlaEDCTArL. Count of EDCT Holds at other airports arriving this airport late.
  • DlaEDCTArr. EDCT Hold Minutes at other airports arriving this airport.
  • DlaEDCTDep. EDCT Hold Minutes departing this airport.
  • DlaEDCTDrE. Count of EDCT Holds departing this airport early.
  • DlaEDCTDrL. Count of EDCT Holds departing this airport late.
  • DlaFPArr. Total Flight Plan Based Arrival Delay Minutes.
  • DlaFPArrA. Average Flight Plan Based Arrival Delay Minutes.
  • DlaFPOffA. Average Flight Plan Based Departure Delay Minutes.
  • DlaFPOff. Total Flight Plan Based Departure Delay Minutes.
  • DlaFPOutA. Average Flight Plan Based Gate Delay Minutes for All Flights.
  • DlaFPOut. Total Flight Plan Based Gate Delay Minutes Delayed 1 Minute or More.

  • DlaTIC. Count of Total Taxi-In Delays.
  • DlaTO. Total Taxi-Out Delay Minutes.
  • DlaTOC. Count of Total Taxi-Out Delays.
  • DlsAirA. Average Airborne Delay Minutes.
  • DlsTOA. Average Taxi Out Delay Minutes.
  • EDCT_ARR (EDCTArrDif). Difference between EDCT Expected and Actual Wheels-On (EDCT Arrival).
  • EDCT_HOLD (DlaEDCT). EDCT Hold in minutes.
  • EDCT_OFF (EDCTOffSec). EDCT Wheels Off GMT Seconds since 1/1/80.
  • EDCT_ON (EDCTOnSec). Wheels On GMT Seconds since 1/1/80 (Filed on EDCT).
  • Eff_AAR. The lesser of the AAR (airport supplied Arrival Rate) or the Program Rate (when a GDP is in place).
  • EffArr. Count of Arrivals for Efficiency Computation.
  • EffDep. Counts of Departure of Efficiency Computation.
  • EqOthArr. Other Equipment Type Arrivals.
  • EqOthDep. Other Equipment Type Departures.
  • Equip_Class. The broad category of the aircraft’s engine from the most recent ETMS Time or Route message. Permissible Values: P = piston; J = jet; T=turbo; - = unknown; ‘’ = missing.
  • Equip. Type of an aircraft as provided by the person who filed the Flight Plan. Combination of up to 4 alphabetic and numeric characters (e.g., B737, MD80, BE02).
  • ETMS_EQPT. IATA Aircraft Equipment Code from ETMS.
  • ETMS. ETMS Present? (Y=Yes, N=No).
  • ETMSArr. Count of ETMS Arrivals.
  • ETMSDep. Count of ETMS Departures.
  • FAACarrier. The code identifying the air carrier.
  • FacArr. Count of Facility-Reported Arrivals ("-1" indicates missing).
  • FacDep. Count of Facility-Reported Departures ("-1" indicates missing).
  • FILED_ETE (FPETE). Estimated Minutes Enroute (Flight Plan).
  • FILED_PTIM (FPDepSec). Flight Plan Gate Departure GMT Seconds since 1/1/80.
  • FLTNO. The number identifying the flight as assigned by the air carrier. Values: 1–9999.
  • FLTTYPE. Flight Type: D = Domestic dep, foreign arr; N = Domestic dep and arr; A = Foreign dep, domestic arr.
  • FreightArr. Freight Arrivals.
  • FreightDep. Freight Departures.
  • GaArr. General Aviation Arrivals.
  • GaDep. General Aviation Departures.
  • GAP_AZ (GAPAZ). Minutes between Arrival Message and Wheels On Time.
  • GAP_DZ. Minutes Between Wheels Off and DZ Message.
  • GATE_DELAY (DlaFPOut). Gate Delay in Minutes (flight plan based).
  • JetArr. Jet Arrivals.
  • JetDep. Jet Departures.
  • MaxCause. When the CANCCODE is “C”, this code indicates whether a National Aviation System (NAS) issue was found in the Operations Network (OPSNET). Permissible Values: 0 = Blank; 1 = Weather; 2 = Volume; 3 = Equipment; 4 = Runway; 5 = Other; 6 = No Match; 7 = No Match; 8 = No Match; 9 = No Match; 10 = No Match; 11 = No Match.
  • MC. Meteorological Conditions Flag (I = Instrument; V = Visual).
  • MetricArr. Count of ASPM Arrivals.
  • MetricDep. Count of ASPM Departures.
  • MilArr. Military Arrivals.
  • MilDep. Military Departures.
  • NOM_TI. Unimpeded Taxi In Time in Minutes.
  • NOM_TO. Unimpeded Taxi Out Time in Minutes.
  • O_ARR_DEL (DlaSchArr). Arrival Delay in Minutes (Compared to Scheduled).
  • O_GATE_DEL (DlaSchOut). Gate Delay in Minutes (Based on Schedule).
  • OAG_ACID. Flight Schedule Data System (FSDS) - Carrier and Fltno links to matching OAG record.
  • OAG_ARPT_DEP (DlaSchOff). Airport Departure Delay Minutes (Based on Schedule).
  • OAG_OFF (SchOffSec). Scheduled Wheels Off Seconds since 1/1/80.
  • OAG_S_ARR (SchInSec). Scheduled Gate-In GMT Seconds since 1/1/80.
  • OAG_S_DEP (SchOutSec). Scheduled Gate Departure (GMT Seconds since 1/1/80).
  • OAG_S_G2G (SchBlock). Scheduled Block Minutes.
  • OAG. OAG Present? (Y = Yes; N = No).
  • Off_DAY. Actual Wheels Off Day (ASQP/OOOI Off Local Day).
  • Off_HOUR. Actual Wheels Off Hour ((ASQP/OOOI Off Local Hour).
  • Off_QTR. Actual Wheels Off Quarter Hour ((ASQP/OOOI Off Local Qtr).
  • Off_YYYYMM. Actual Wheels Off Year and Month ((ASQP/OOOI Off Local Date).
  • On_DAY. Actual Wheels On Day ((ASQP/OOOI On Local Day).

  • Rec_Type. A code that indicates the data source. Permissible Values: A = ASQP; R = ETMS.
  • RwyConf. Airport-supplied runway configuration (Arrival | Departure).
  • SchArr. Count of Scheduled Arrivals.
  • SchDep. Count of Scheduled Departures.
  • T_ACT_AZ (AZTm). ETMS Arrival Message Time HH:MM.
  • T_ACT_DZ (DZTm). ETMS Departure Message Time HH:MM.
  • T_ADJ_OAG_ARR (FPInTm). Flight Plan Gate-In HH:MM.
  • T_EDCT_OFF (EDCTOffTm). EDCT Wheels Off Time HH:MM.

  • USER_CLASS. Aircraft Class: C = Commercial; T = Air Taxi; F = Freight; G = General Aviation; M = Military; O = Other.
  • Visibility. In nautical miles. (The value "M" = Missing)
  • WHEELS_OFF (ActOffSec). Actual Wheels Off GMT Seconds since 1/1/80.
  • WHEELS_ON (ActOnSec). Actual Wheels On GMT Seconds since 1/1/80.
  • WindAngle. Degrees from magnetic north. (The value "M" = Missing)
  • WindSpeed. Speed in knots. (The value "M" = Missing)
